CONDITIONER: There are two kinds of conditioner. One goes into the hair shaft and the other slides down the outside of each strand. The "goes-into-the-hair" kind is for repairing damaged or permed or color treated hair. It makes the hair feel healthy and behave and look better. The "outside-of-the-hair" kind of conditioner just coats the strand. Thus, it detangles and shines the hair. Some conditioners add "body" by heavily coating the hair and making each hair feel larger. The technique for choosing and applying the products depends on the desired result.
